17-yr-Old Nigerian Emerges 3rd World Youngest Humanitarian
POLITICS DIGEST – A 17 year old Nigerian from Kano State, Abdul Yasir Garba in Senior Secondary School, SS3, has emerged third world youngest humanitarian as declared by the World Humanitarian Forum, WHF, in London.
Abdul emerged third out of a pool of 238 applications from youths in around 39 countries of the world.
As the first young person to ever attract the WHF honor in Nigeria as a whole, Abdul came runner ups to a young female Indonesian Humanitarian, Desi Yunsari and a Young Afghan Subrab Samin who emerged first and second respectively out of six shortlisted applicants.
“This achievement excites me alot because it indicates that I am on the right track and encourages me to continue to do more in my service to humanity.” Abdul told Arewa Agenda.
“I also hope alot of Nigerian Youths will learn from this and be inspired to also make themselves agents of positive change.” He added.
World Humanitarian Forum (WHF) is the largest and most inclusive nonpartisan forum in humanitarian aid and international development.

Born on 9th September 2002 to a Fulani family in Gwagwarwa Nassarawa LGA of Kano State, Northern Nigeria, Abdul attended Benevolent Academy for Primary Education and subsequently Arrayhan International School.
Abdul Yasir’s Humanitarian works Started when he was 14 years old when he formed an Organisation with some friends and neighbors aimed a creating public Awareness within his community about what Almajiri children are facing in the society.
With strong support from his parents, his efforts began to take shape and his works started to transcend community to International level.
While on the Journey, some of his friends gave up along the line while some stated with him.
In Nigeria Abdul Yasir is popularly known for his aid to orphans and Almajiri children, currently through all his works he has aided 3000 Almajiri children’s with food, ,clothes and has taken them out for recreational activities and many more in northern part of Nigeria.
He also currently aides 237 orphans across the globe.
Garba have participate in countless Humanitarian Activities and has been invited by several International Organizations and NGO’S for conferences. He also volunteer for many organisation and donate funds to some donor organisations.
