2022 budget: Osun organises CCEF
POLITICS DIGEST – The Osun State Government has announced that it will be organising a Citizens’ Consultative Engagement Forum(CCEF) on the 2022 budget estimate across the three senatorial districts of the state.
The forum, which will be organised through the Osun State Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget in conjunction with the State Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability (SFTAS) Programme, will create an avenue for citizens to have inputs in the projects in the draft of the year 2022 estimates before it will be presented before the House of Assembly for consideration and passage into law.

The announcement, which was contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Prof. Olalekan Yinusa, stated that the state government expected only the need of the masses to go into the state’s budget in order for the people to feel the impact of government.
The consultative forum, according to the statement, will start Tuesday 3rd August, 2021 across the three Senatorial districts of the state.
The state government charged residents to meet with government officials and demand what they want to be included in the budget.
Additional information has it that the forum at Osun Central Senatorial District will be held at Ila-Orangun, while it will be held in Ilesa for Osun East Senatorial District on Wednesday and Ikire for Osun West Senatorial District on Thursday.
The state government also announced that council chairmen, council secretaries, council managers, selected local government staff, traders, civil society organisations, religious leaders, community development associations and community police relations committee are expected as part of the forum.
