2023: Uncertainty As PDP Holds NEC Today After Governors Meeting
POLITICS DIGEST– A meeting of National Executive Committee (NEC) of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) holds today at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja amid uncertainty over the zoning of top party positions and presidential ticket ahead of 2023.
The meeting is expected to discuss the constitution of the national convention committee and the zoning of positions in the National Working Committee (NWC) after the submission of a recommendation on the micro-zoning of the leadership positions at last NEC.
Wednesday, the party’s governors operating under the auspices of PDP Governors Forum held a meeting at Akwa Ibom Governors’ Lodge, Abuja.

The meeting was also attended by former governors and federal lawmakers, including Alhaji Sule Lamido, Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo, and Emeka Ihediaoha who were sighted exiting the venue around 7:29pm.
Former Senate President David Mark, who is leading a committee constituted by the PDP National Caucus to resolve internal party wrangling, also attended the meeting before leaving by 8:09pm.
His committee is expected to submit its report today at NEC.
Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, who is pushing for the removal of the suspended national Chairman, Uche Secondus, was seen coming out at every interval during the discussion.
Briefing journalists after the meeting which ended at 10:10pm, the Chairman of the forum and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, said the outcome of their deliberation would be announced at today’s NEC meeting.
He said the meeting deliberated on how to unite the party and work towards a successful National Convention.
