2023: Group Urged President Buhari To Call Gov Abdulrazaq To Order
POLITICS DIGEST –A group within the Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to call Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to order before it is too late for the party in the 2023 election.
The “Kwara Legacy Group”, populated by loyalists of the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, made the call at a press conference in Ilorin on Friday.
The spokesperson of the group, Kayode Ogunlowo, accused the governor of factionalizing the party with his creation of the AA forums in an attempt to create another dynasty in the State.
While thanking President Buhari and the minister for their efforts in ensuring the victory of the party in 2019, Ogunlowo appealed to the president to urgently act to save the party in the State.
“President Muhammadu Buhari should call the governor to order before it is too late.
“Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq is notorious in factional Politics and his affinity in divide and rule politics need urgent summon by the national caretaker and president Mohammadu Buhari.

“Alhaji Lai Mohammed has sacrificed his ego, ambition, time, loyalty and resources to deliver total victory for APC in Kwara State.
“But it is so sad that at the moment that Kwarans should be enjoying the dividend of their trust in ‘Otoge’, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq is busy fighting and factionalizing Kwara APC over campaign funds.”
On the new party secretariat Commissioned by the minister in the state, Ogunlowo exonerated the minister from any blame.
“We can all recall that before the emergence of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq as a candidate of our party in 2018, we had a party Secretariat that was fully functional. But immediately Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq became Governor, he rented 3 bedrooms apartment at Tanke Ledu and tagged it state secretariat of the party.
“After the expiration of our agreement with our landlord, the party structure was left without party Secretariat which informed the party executive led by Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa to acquire a befitting party Secretariat that was commissioned by the minister last week,” he said.
While stating their readiness for reconciliation, the group however insisted the minister funded all elections of the entire party structure and candidates during the last election.
