60 Days into Office, Tinubu Exhausts Legal Window to Search for Ministers

Despite the constitutional amendment that makes it mandatory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to name his ministerial nominees within 60 days of taking the oath of office, the President is yet to reveal the men and women that will make up his cabinet.
POLITICS DIGEST can report that Thursday 27th of July makes it 60 days the President got into the office but he is yet to name the nominees at the time of filing this report.
Former President Buhari had signed into law some amendment acts from National Assembly. The new amendment to the constitution requires the President and governors to submit the names of persons nominated as ministers or commissioners within 60 days of taking the oath of office for confirmation by the Senate or State House of Assembly.

Meanwhile, there are unconfirmed speculations that President Tinubu has already sent the list of the nominees to the National Assembly.
The rumours claim that former governors Nyesom Wike, Nasir El-rufai, Atiku Bagudu, Gboyega Isiaka and Ben Ayade are on the list.
The Senate is expected to sit for plenary today and Nigerians are eagerly hoping that Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, will read out the names of the ministerial nominees during the plenary.
