The first plaintiff, Alhaji Aminu Babba DanAgundi, was dethroned in 2003 by the Kano Emirate council, based on the report of the Makaman Kano committee which indicted the Sarkin Dawaki Maituta of alleged partisan politics, gross misconduct and indiscipline to the late Emir Ado Bayero.
POLITICS DIGEST recalled that the dethroned Sarkin Dawaki immediately filed a suit praying that the court should upturn his dismissal as he was wrongly sacked and that he was not given a fear hearing, noting that his position of Sarkin Dawaki be restored to him, as stated by his council, Barrister O. E. B Offiong, in a Kano State High Court.
However, in a ruling on Friday, Justice Mary Odili delivered the lead judgment based on the unanimous decision of the five justices of the Supreme Court.
