Akeredolu ‘ll Resume Work Only When Fit – Ondo Govt
POLITICS DIGEST – The Ondo State Government has declared that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is not yet physically capable of resuming his duties as governor.
Akeredolu was expected to resume work on Thursday after taking a month-long sick leave. During his absence, the state House of Assembly had appointed his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, as the acting governor.
Earlier today, report says that Akeredolu expressed eagerness to return to his official responsibilities as soon as he received medical clearance from his healthcare team.
He expressed his gratitude for the continuous prayers and well-wishes he had received, which provided him with comfort and rejuvenation during his recovery.

However, the Commissioner for Information in Ondo State, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, released a statement on Thursday declaring that Governor Akeredolu would only resume his duties when his doctors deemed him fit to do so.
Mrs. Ademola-Olateju conveyed Governor Akeredolu’s gratitude to the people of the state for their continuous prayers and messages of goodwill for his full recovery and return to good health.
She acknowledged the immense support received from various quarters, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, party leaders, fellow governors, and members of the State House of Assembly.
The statement concluded with an assurance that the governor is in high spirits and looks forward to rejoining the people of Ondo State as soon as his doctors advise it.
