APC Chieftain Sympathises With Kogi Road Accident Victims, Calls For Thorough Investigation
POLITICS DIGEST – A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi State and National Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon Yakubu Murtala Ajaka has sympathised with the victims of road accident which took place along Ochadamu-Anyigba road on Thursday.
While sending his condolences to the victims, Hoń Yakubu called on the relevant authorities to carry out investigations into the unfortunate incident.
He charged motorists to abide by all relevant traffic rules and avoid reckless driving especially in these ember months.
Hon. Yakubu advised road users to ensure that their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on the journey to avoid preventable accidents.
It would be recalled that the community along Ochadamu-Anyigba road was thrown into mourning on Thursday afternoon when a Dangote truck loaded with coal rammed into another tanker loaded with inflammable product which barricaded the road in protest of an alleged extortion by the military personnel along the road.
In the process, over 20 vehicles on the queue as a result of the protest went into flames thereby killing over 11 persons and left many others with various degree of injuries. Not fewer than 23 vehicles were destroyed by the inferno .
Hon Yakubu therefore, called on the Nigerian Army to look into the activities of her personnel at the various checkpoints to enforce proper conduct.
