APC CONVENTION: How Tinubu Defeated Osinbajo, Lawan Amid All Odds

POLITICS DIGEST- The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will now fly the ruling party’s flag as its presidential candidate, in next year’s general election.
Tinubu, some minutes ago, was declared winner of the APC special convention in Abuja, today.
The three-day convention, which was organized to elect the party’s presidential standard-bearer, took place at the Eagles Square, with President Muhammadu Buhari, in attendance.

Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, who was the primary election’s returning officer, declared Tinubu, a former Lagos State Governor, has winner having polled 1,271 votes.
Over 2,000 delegates of the ruling party participated in the shadow presidential poll.
The APC National Leader trounced Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmed Lawan, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, and Rotimi Amaechi, who scored 235, 153, 47 and 316 votes respectively.
Other aspirants who participated in the APC primaries include Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Pastor Tunde Bakare, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, and Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, among others.
Tinubu, will now square up against Alh. Atiku Abubakar, the presidential flagbearer of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the main election scheduled for February 2023.
