Again, APC Loses Rep Seat in Bauchi as Appeal Court Sacks Member, Orders Fresh Polls
POLITICS DIGEST – The Court of Appeal sitting in Jos, Plateau state capital a while ago on Friday nullified the election of Hon. Garba Muhammad Gololo, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), representing Gamawa federal constituency of Bauchi state, in the House of Representatives.
Hon. Isa Muhammad Wabu of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) had challenged the degree qualification of Hon. Gololo, alleging that the lawmaker forged the BSc and the MA certificates he claimed to have obtained from Lagos State University.
The court therefore disqualified him based on presenting forged BSc, MA and NYSC certificates to contest in the 2019 election.
Justice E. Igor, in a lead and consensus judgment, ordered INEC to conduct fresh election, within 90 days.
