APC Corroborates Politics Digest’s Story on Zoning Formula for NASS Leadership

The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially released the zoning formula for the 10th National Assembly (NASS) leadership positions.
The party, in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, on Monday, affirmed a story earlier published by POLITICS DIGEST on the zoning formula that will produce the Senate President, Speaker and other principal officers of the incoming Assembly.
According to the zoning template reported earlier by POLITICS DIGEST, the position of Senate President is zoned to the South South region, which the APC NWC today corroborated, with Senator Godswill Akpabio favoured to become the next Senate President.
The APC also zoned the Deputy Senate President slot to the Northwest with Senator Barau Jibril of Kano state set to emerge as Deputy to Akpabio.
This is just as the ruling party NWC gave the position of the House Speaker to Northwest, with Hon. Abbas Tajuddeen tipped to become the Femi Gbajabiamila’s successor, among other principal offices of the 10th National Assembly.
