APC PRIMARIES: Religious Bigot Aspirant Spreading Propaganda to Scuttle Tinubu’s Victory – Shettima
By Abdulsalam Mahmud and Kabir Akintayo,
A former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, has raised an alarm over a plot to sway delegates at the ongoing All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential primaries, from voting for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Politics Digest reports.
This is just as the Tinubu Media Office, distanced their principal (Tinubu) from the Muslim/Muslim gambit, if he eventually emerges APC presidential candidate.
In a post on his Facebook timeline, Shettima, a Senator in the 9th National Assembly, who is ardently promoting the Tinubu presidential project, said: “An aspirant with a history of religious fanaticism and his team have started propaganda among delegates that Jagaban is planning a Muslim/Muslim ticket”.

The former Borno Governor, urged delegates to ignore the aspirant’s desperate attempt to give religious colorations to Tinubu’s imminent success at the convention.
He said: “Detribalized TINUBU is coasting to victory and with the North voluntarily conceding Power to the South, this is Buhari’s and by extension Nigeria’s finest hour. Let’s not allow this beautiful fragrance of national unity to be spoilt by the putrid smell of intolerance and divisiveness”.
On its part, the Tinubu Media Office, said that their leading presidential aspirant did not forwarded messages to delegates claiming that with his victory at the shadow APC presidential poll he has decided on a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
“This is nothing but a lie. It has not basis whatsoever. We enjoin the distinguished delegates to ignore this completely. Truth is Asiwaju is destined for victory, and no one can scuttle this through their shameful tactics,” Tinubu Media Office noted, in a statement obtained by Politics Digest.
