Atiku Support Organization Lauds US On Visa Ban, Urges EU, UK to Imitate
POLITICS DIGEST- The Atiku Support Organization has commendsled the U.S government visa ban on election riggers in Nigeria.
It further calls for harsher sanctions, including the freezing and seizure of assets.
This was contain In a statement by its Director of Voter Education and Publicity Dr EI MO Victor.
The statement which read in parts:
“We commend the United States government for placing a visa ban on election riggers in Nigeria. This is a decision long expected and we are glad that it came at a time it’s badly needed. This, we believe, will serve as a deterrent to other politicians and their agents who take advantage of the system to rob the people of their votes.
We appreciate 10 Downing Street’s decision of taking similar measures. We beseech the European Union to join in this direction by imposing harsher sanctions, including the freezing and seizure of assets of election riggers to help save Nigeria from desperate politicians in the All Progressive Congress and their collaborators who will do anything for a pot of porridge.
The shameless act of desperation shown by the APC and the violence that trailed the 2018 Osun state gubernatorial elections, Kogi, Bayelsa, and Rivers state in 2019, and the 2019 presidential elections is still fresh in our minds. With the forthcoming Edo and Ondo state gubernatorial elections, Nigerians are worried whether or not their votes will count and what mayhem the APC and their willing tools are planning to unleash on the people in their desperate quest to win the elections at all costs.
Consequently, we are imploring the United States government, the United Kingdom, and the European Union to keep a close eye on the Edo and Ondo state gubernatorial elections and insist that the choice of the majority of the people is respected.
Finally, we call on all the great people of Edo state to come out en masse on the 19th to cast and defend their votes for the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, H.E. Gov. Godwin Obaseki. Say NO to godfatherism. LET THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE PREVAIL.
