Battle For BUK Vice Chancellor’s Seat Thickens – Don Petitions Board
POLITICS DIGEST – The tenure of the Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello comes to a end, the quest for his replacement has intensified in the institution of learning.
The election will take place in the first week of August in the University, contenders for the office have been putting their best in an attempt to win.
According to Newstunnel.online, more scheming is taking place and despite some underdogs that may be working from beneath the surface.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor academic Professor Adamu Idris Tanko will slug it out with a former Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas.
While Abbas is said to enjoy the support of a large fraction of the establishment, Tanko on the other is with some radicals who feel the need to bring the man they think is fit for the job.

Both of the contenders have their camps active and bent on leaving no stone unturned for the success of their candidate.
A twist emerged recently in which Newstunnel exclusively obtained a document which one Professor Abdussamad Jibia petitioned the governing board of the university recently headed by Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, the chief of staff to President Buhari on the need to stop Tanko from contesting while accusing him of handling religious issues in an unsatisfactory way.
The two page petition also lamented how the Deputy Vice Chancellor had disregard for rule when he chaired the senate committee.
But a keen supporter of Professor Tanko lambasted the petition while dismissing it as a desperate attempt by the camp of Sagir Abbas camp to discredit the people’s choice.
The staff who craved anonymity said Tanko would make a better leader if elected.
Efforts to reach out to the university spokesperson Lamara Garba proved abortive at the time of filing report.
