Bayelsa Polls: APC Bounces Back as Appeal Court Orders INEC to Recognise Lyon as Its Candidate
POLITICS DIGEST – An Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers state has on Friday ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise Chief David Lyon as the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Saturday governorship election in Bayelsa State.

Ruling on a motion ex-parte filed by the lawyers of Lyon, the court set aside the judgment of the Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa and presided over by Justice Jane Inyang.
The court said Lyon remained the candidate of the APC for the election pending the determination of an appeal he filed against the judgement of the lower court.
The verdict follows an appeal filed by PDP and its candidate in Bayelsa state’s Saturday election after a High Court in Yenagoa has nullified its primary and declared that the party has no candidate in the election.
