UPDATED: Court Sacks Kano Lawmaker
POLITICS DIGEST – A Tribunal in Kano has sacked the member representing Rogo Constituency in the State House of Assembly under the platform of APC Pharmacist Magaji Dahiru Zarewa.
The three man panel of the tribunal headed by Hon. Justice A.M. Yakubu (chairman), Hon. Justice N. Daniel (member), Hon. Justice A. Nikail (member) ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to issue a certificate of return to the second runner Jibril Ismail Falgore of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Mr. Zarewa was sacked by the court following a suit filed by the PDP candidate challenging his qualification in the rerun 2019 election after a court order that there was irregularities in the first election.
Zarewa was said to have not meet the requirement of contesting because of his failure to resign as the Managing Director of Kano Drugs and Consumables Supply Agency thirty days to election.
The court also ordered that Jibril Falgore should immediately be sworn in by the clerk of the state assembly.
On his part, counsel to PDP candidate Barrister Ibrahim Garba Waru has expressed his gratitude to the panel for upholding justice by sacking the APC lawmaker and declaring his candidate as winner of the election.
It is not clear whether the sacked lawmaker will appeal the judgment as efforts to reach his lawyer Nura Adamu Isa by this paper were unsuccessful.
