BREAKING: Danzago elected Kano APC chairman in parallel congress
POLITICS DIGEST – Some members of the All Progressives Congress in Kano loyal to Senator Ibrahim Shekrau and Barau Jibrin have elected Ahmadu Haruna Zago as Chairman of the party in Kano.
The congress which was scheduled to take place at Sani Abacha Youth Centre was disrupted by men of the Nigeria Police.
It was rescheduled to Janguza town of Tofa local government in the state.
The congress which had in attendance member representing Dawakin Tofa, Tofa and Rimingado in the House of Representatives and other stakeholders elected Ahmadu Haruna Zago to lead the party in the state.
Mr. Zago in his speech promised to take all party members along restating that he will address the challenges facing the party ahead of the 2023 polls.
He thank members of the party and other stakeholders for their unflinching support.

On his part, a chairmanship aspirant of the party who withdraw his ambition to support Danzago Sharif Baban Lungu said he took the decision for the unity and victory of the party. Baban Lungu assured members that this is the right leadership for members of APC in Kano.
Politics Digest gathered that Danzago is enjoying the support of two serving senators, Rep. Shaaban Sharada, Rep. Nasiru Auduwa Gabasawa, Rep. Tijja i Abdulkadir Jobe and Rep. Haruna Isa Dederi.
This is coming while another congress was taking place by some members of the party loyal to governor Abdullahi Ganduje at Sani Abacha Stadium.
The loyalists of the governor have elected Abdullahi Abbas as their Chairman unopposed.
