2023: Buhari has Performed, PDP is a Party of Termites – Tinubu Tells APC Women

The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Monday said the party has performed creditably well in the last seven years and deserves to be voted back into office at all levels next year.
The APC candidate spoke at the inauguration of APC Women Campaign Council on Monday at the State House, Abuja.
Tinubu said the country handed over to President Muhammadu Buhari by the People’s Democratic Party was a troubled one, adding that the President has delivered on his promise to run Boko Haram terrorists out of town.
He told an enthusiastic crowd of APC women that PDP is a party of termites which should never be allowed to get near power again.
“Our opponents spent 16 years in office, they had forgotten that the highway is an economy, electricity is mandatory for industrialisation. They don’t understand the transmission lines and the need for maintenance.
“Who are they? They are looters. They are a political party of termites. Go out there and tell them. A new hope is here. Tell them today is women’s day. You are following the man who knows the way,” Tinubu said.

Touching his trademark cap, he continued: “The design on this cap is a broken shackle. We are breaking the shackle of poverty and destitution. In the last eight years, it has been a party that inherited a troublesome nation under the weight of uncertainty,” he said.
“We took over the worst pricing of crude oil but still, the very determined, focused person (Buhari) was able to bail 36 states of this country who were not able to pay salaries,” he added.
Tinubu added that it is “easy to forget the situation of the country” before Buhari was elected president.
In attendance at the event were Tinubu’s running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima; National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullah Adamu; Governor of Plateau State and Director General of APC Presidential Campaign Council, Simon Lalong; Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, among others.
A source at the party secretariat said that the inauguration of the 944-member team will signal the official kick-off of the party’s campaign.
The source also said the women’s team will enjoy a degree of autonomy to arrange and organise its own programmes at the national, zonal and state levels.
The ruling party had on October 1 announced the composition of the women’s campaign train with First Lady, Aisha Buhari, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Hajiya Nana Shettima, as leaders.
