BUK Alumni Bags Excellence Award for Medical Supports
POLITICS DIGEST – In recognition of its contributions towards the health sector, the management of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) has awarded the Bayero University Class of 92 Alumni Association with certificate of excellence.
According to the hospital, the recognition became necessary considering the consistent contributions and support of the association to the less privileged, particularly the pediatric and oncology patients at the hospital.
At the annual Cancer Day event, the hospital management commended the alumni’s support in fighting the epidemic among several other diseases via their support to ailing patients in the hospital.
While presenting the award on behalf of the AKTH, a consultancy dietician in the hospital, Dr Shehu Umar Abdullahi thanked the group for their kind support, while calling on them to sustain the charitable intervention.

Responding, the Secretary General of BUK92 Alumni association, Abubakar Muhammad Yakasai expressed their appreciation for the award, while promising to sustain the tradition.

“Not only in AKTH, our association equally extends similar gesture to the Murtala Muhammad Specialists Hospital, the orphanage home, prison and other related places to help put smile on the faces of the less privileged.
“We equally spend a reasonable amount annually to award scholarship to good students from poor families in our alma mater, the Bayero University Kano,” Yakasai added.
BUK ’92 Alumni Association, a nongovernmental old students’ group of Bayero University products who graduated in 1992, has members across all sectors of the Nigerian economy.
