Confusion in APC over Zoning as Northern Governors Storm Villa

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with all northern governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Presidential Villa.
The party has been having series of meetings, in a bid to resolve issues around zoning and the choice of a consensus candidate.
As at yesterday, all the northern governors had in a memo endorsed a southern candidate.

Meanwhile, APC National chairman, Adamu Abdullahi, dismissed the zoning of the party ticket to south, adding that, position of northern governors does not reflect to the stand of the party.
Adamu said no zoning has been done yet, but some unconfirmed sources revealed that, party had already settled for the Senate President Ahmed Lawan.
In another development, governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa, in an interview with BBC Hausa, earlier today dismissed the news of him stepping down from the race.
Badaru said, he’s still on the race and he has not stepped down or backed out from the presidential contest.
