Conserve Energy to Save Cost, Boost Power Supply, KEDCO Advises Customers
POLITICS DIGEST – The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has advised its customers to cultivate the habit of using energy in efficiently in order to reduce unnecessary electricity consumption as well as cut cost.
KEDCO who stated this an a statement made available to newsmen on Monday added that customers should always switch off appliances when not in used especially now that the stay at home order is still in place.
The DisCo said: “We know that the weather is hot and many homes will be needing power especially with the stay at home order by government, in this light we are advising our customers to always see it as a responsibility to conserve energy at homes.

“Appliances like microwaves, chargers, decoders, TVs and other musical gadgets often use power even when they are not in use. It is advisable to switch them off to conserve energy.
This is key as it would allow other customers to benefit from the saved supply”, the company added.
Also, the Managing Director of the company, Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna explained that: “There is need for our customers to cultivate the culture of energy conservation as this will help them and also assist us in serving more customers, especially in this time of higher energy demand from all stakeholders.
“I will also advise that customers should use more of energy efficient bulbs which consume less energy and help save costs. This advice we are giving to ensure that we protect our customers too especially in the area of being proactive to issues of appliance use.’’
