The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has opened up on how Senator Kashim Shettima emerged his running mate for the 2023 presidential election.
The former Lagos state governor said he consulted with the President, Muhammadu Buhari, governors of the party, chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and other major party stakeholders, before arriving at the choice of Shettima.
Tinubu, while acknowledging achievements of Senator Shettima, during the unveiling ceremony that took place on Wednesday in Abuja, said, almost every major stakeholder can attest to Shettima’s performance as a governor and a Senator of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He stressed the needs to select competence over self interest, adding that without that, no politician will survive.
