Corps member builds E-library for Sokoto school
POLITICS DIGEST– A Corps Member serving in Sokoto State, Asmau Hamisu, has built an E-library at Government Secondary School Gwadaba, in Gwadaba Local Government Area (LGA) of the State.
Asmau, is a graduate of Anatomy from the Yusuf Maitama Sule University, in Kano State.
This was part of her personal community development project as a corps member.
Asmau, who hails from Kano State, also equipped the library with three set of computers, chairs, tables, copies of the Qur’an and over 200 copies of books from various subjects that include Mathematics, English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
She also renovated a female toilet that was in a dilapidated condition in the school.

During her stay in the school, she organized a female sensitization on personal hygiene and supported over 600 female students with some health hygiene products in the school.
During the commissioning of the library, Chairman of Gwadabawa LGA, who was represented by Mallam Abba, commended Asmau’s efforts and urged the students to emulate her.
Asmau, on her part, said she was inspired and motivated by the works of Nana Asmau, the daughter of Sheikh Usman Dan Fodio, who had contributed so much to the development of scholarship, hence the reason she named the library after her.
She believes that her kind gesture will not only motivate other corpers but will serve as inspiration and motivation to the young child, as part of the ongoing campaign on girl child education in the north.
The event was attended by the District Head of Gwadabawa, Mallam Buhari, NYSC Zonal Inspector and othe prominent personalities from the state.
