CRP Warns Against Threats to Oil Facilities in Niger Delta, Urges Rule of Law Over Violence
POLITICS DIGEST- The Concerned Rivers People (CRP) has issued a strong warning to a group threatening to tamper with oil installations in the Niger Delta, urging them to avoid actions that could lead to severe consequences.
The group, citing alleged grievances over court rulings, had threatened to disrupt oil facilities in the region.
In response, CRP’s Director of Communications, Mr. Robinson Uke, issued a statement condemning the threats, emphasizing that such acts would invite catastrophe.

He reminded the group that governance worldwide is anchored in the rule of law, and Rivers State should not be viewed as a place where lawlessness reigns.
“When they received court orders in the past, the directives were respected, and peace prevailed,” Uke said. “We are cautioning these faceless actors that any attempt to disrupt oil installations will result in disaster.”
CRP also urged Governor Siminalayi Fubara to step in and address these concerns within his sphere of influence, emphasizing that the 21st-century mindset should not endorse a “jungle justice” mentality.
Uke underscored that the Ijaw nation, with its vast and respected presence across Nigeria’s coastal areas, comprises individuals who have excelled in all aspects of life and should not be associated with lawlessness.
“Niger Deltans will not stand idly by as a few armed individuals attempt to bring instability to the region,” he added.
