Customs Donates 6,000 bags of rice to Ekiti, Oyo, Osun, Ondo as COVID-19 Palliative
POLITICS DIGEST – The Oyo/Osun Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has donated 6,000 bags of Rice to Oyo Osun, Ekiti and Ondo states government as COVID -19 palliative.
The rice was donated to the states on Monday by the Customs Area Controller Oyo / Osun Command, Comptroller Hellen Ngozi at the Command’s headquarters’ in Ibadan.
According to sources, the Oyo/Osun NCS command was directed by the Federal Government to release at least 1,800 bags of the rice seized each to Oyo and Osun states.

Ekiti and Ondo state were expected to share the remaining bags of rice.
Oyo, Osun and Ekiti states received their allocated bags of rice each while Ondo state is expected to take delivery of its allocated share on Tuesday.
The Oyo, Osun and Ekiti states government were represented at the event by Commissioners from the respective states.
Delivering the rice, Mrs Ngozi disclosed that the donation was in fulfillment of the promise made by the management of the customs to send palliatives to states to cushion the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the people.
According to her ,”Each of the four states with the exception of Ondo will receive 1,800 bags of parboiled rice, while Ondo will get 600 bags.”
