At the handover ceremony on Wednesday, the Area Controller, Comptroller Musa Omale, explained that the seizure of the fake drugs was a result of the efforts of vigilantes and officers of the command, adding that the counterfeit drugs are being handed over in line with the collaboration policy thrust of the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.
Omale, who issued a stern warning to smugglers, said: “Importation of pharmaceutical drugs through the land border is not allowed. Nigeria Customs Service has streamlined the importation of all pharmaceutical drugs through designated seaports, which are only cleared after meeting the pre-requisite documentation.”
