Dangwani Distrubutes Food Items to PDP Chairmen in Kano
POLITICS DIGEST– Former Chief of Staff to Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Director General of Atiku Abubakar and Abba Kabir Yusuf in the 2019 general election Dr Yunusa Adamu Dangwani has distributed food items worth millions of naira to PDP Chairmen across the 44 local government in Kano.
Dangwani a former commissioner of water resources in Kano is a chieftain, strategist and close confidant of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State.
It was speculated that he was the governorship anointed candidate of Kwankwaso in 2019 election, a speculation that was proved abortive when the leader of the party opted for Abba Kabir Yusuf, his former personal assistant and Commissioner of works between 2012 and 2015.
The distribution of food items by Dangwani has been described by many as a new approach in the kwankwasiyya movement where it is only the leader of the movement that is allowed to make such a gesture, this was in order to avoid clash or misunderstanding among members.
Many party members have expressed appreciation of the gesture by the former chief of staff.

It’s not clear whether Dangwani is interested to vie for governorship but according to insiders, it will be hard for Kwankwaso to opt for any other candidate other than Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Dangwani himself is a staunch loyalist of Kwankwasiyya and has been seen in the frontline of accepting Kwankwaso’s every decision right from 1999.
“If they is any Caliph of the Kwankwasiyya movement in Nigeria, Dangwani should be that person, looking at his commitment and dedication to Kwankwasiyya school of political thought” said Abdullahi Ismail, a member of the movement.
He was in 2016 arrested and detained for many months by men of the DSS over an allegation that was yet to be ascertained. He was released without being charged to court.
Many people have seen his arrest as political and a witch-hunt by the government of Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Yunusa Adamu Dangwani not only served as Kwankwaso’s Chief of Staff, he has also served as Executive Secretary of Kano State Hospital Management Board during the first tenure of Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso.
The Russian trained medical doctor is seen as a grassroots mobilizer and one of the Kwankwasiyya leaders that enjoys the support of all because of his good human relations.
