Desmond Tutu was a Global Champion of Peace and Human Rights – Jonathan

Former Nigerian President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, has condoled with the government and people of South Africa on the passage of Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
The Archbishop Emeritus of Cape Town passed on, on Sunday at the age of 90.

In a condolence message posted on his Facebook page, Dr Jonathan described Archbishop Tutu as “a Nobel peace laureate and a global champion of peace, human rights and reconciliation, who lived a dedicated life of service to God and humanity.”
“As a preacher, Archbishop Tutu was a great teacher,who used his privileged position not only to win souls and make disciples but also to mobilize and advocate for the freedom of the people of South Africa and promote justice and democracy across the continent.
“Africa and indeed the rest of the world will miss Archbishop Tutu as he was the continent’s foremost voice of reason and conscience,” the message read in part.
