Election: Gov Yahaya, NNPP Candidate Applaud Voters’ Turnout in Gombe

    By Idris Umar Feta,

The Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has hailed electorates for the turnout and peaceful conduct at the ongoing governorship and state assembly elections.

The governor, who doubles as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress voted alongside his wife, Amina, at Yahaya Umaru 010 Government Science Secondary School polling unit, Gombe.

According to Yahaya, the exercise was encouraging with reports from various parts of the state concurring to same.

He observed that the peaceful exercise reiterated the readiness of voters to choose their leaders.

“With this development, I expect that the peaceful nature of Gombe should be maintained,” the governor said.

Similarly, his New Nigeria Peoples Party counterpart, Khamisu Mailantarki, who voted at Usman Kafinta 010, lauded the smooth process at his polling unit, expressing confidence about his victory.

Like Yahaya, Mailantarki said, “I’m very confident that I will emerge victorious because of the support of the people and it’s overwhelming and the eventual pronouncement of votes.

“So far so good, the election is going on well, especially in this polling unit, people are abiding by the laws. We are very confident and we don’t see any problem. We want to appreciate the effort of INEC by improving the quality of the election. We hope it happens everywhere across the state, like I have seen it here. We will have a credible election. I’m satisfied with the process in this polling unit,” he noted.
