End Banditry in Katsina now, Angry Senators Tell Buhari
By Lawan Bukar Maigana
The Senator representing Katsina Central at the National Assembly, Kabir Abdullahi Barkiya, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to order the military to quash bandits and kidnappers who are troubling the state.
Barkiya made the call during a senate plenary session on Wednesday to support the motion raised by his colleague, Senator Bello Mandiya, representing Katsina South.
Mundiya had said there was an urgent need for the Federal Government to take workable measures to end banditry and kidnapping in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

“Enough is enough. We need to do something serious. After declaring the bandits as terrorists, we shouldn’t allow them again to continue their rubbish act,” he lamented.
While narrating the ordeals of his constituents to the plenary, he said
bandits attacked and kidnapped 38 members of a community last Sunday.
“We have to look at it critically. Maybe we assume that the security agents are doing their best but to me, they need to do more than their best. How can the bandits just go and kidnap 38 people in a single community?” he asked.
Barkiya wondered why the bandits and kidnappers are still in existence in the state despite their locations being known to top government agents and functionaries.
He called on the government to provide necessary support to the security agencies, to enable them to bring banditry and other forms of terrorism to a permanent end across the country.
