We’ll Enforce Supreme Court Judgement on LG Autonomy – ICPC Boss
The Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr. Musa Aliyu, SAN, has said the Commission will take responsibility for the enforcement of the recent judgement on local government autonomy.
Addressing participants at the One-Day National Anti-Corruption Coalition (NACC) Members Hybrid Interactive Forum held at ICPC headquarters in Abuja, Dr. Aliyu said
local governments must be governed by democratically elected leaders, “and we must ensure that those leaders are individuals of integrity and accountability.”

“But on this issue of the Supreme Court decision, I’m telling you, we’ll work. It is the ICPC’s constitutional responsibility to enforce the Supreme Court decision.
“They can say whatever they want to say. They can do whatever they want to do. The Constitution is clear, we have to protect the integrity of our courts . I will not stand by and watch some people dismantle it. Not during my time.
“They can do it if I’m not here, but not while I’m here. I’m not scared. I’m determined. I will protect the integrity of the court. I’ll lead the fight. I put my trust in God. Nobody can do anything to me except God allows it,” he vowed.
