By Nafisat Bello
A leading Pentecostal church in Nigeria (name withheld) has offered to pray for the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, to enable him win the February 2023 election.
Some members of the Church approached a close ally of Atiku who is also from Adamawa state, in his Abuja residence recently.
They offered to take him to the General Overseer of the Church for special prayers that will lead to the victory of the PDP next year.
Our correspondent gathered that as part of the prayers, the group of prayer warriors will travel to all 36 states of the federation to bless the candidacy of the former Vice President.

The Atiku associate however told a trusted friend that he wanted to take them to the PDP candidate to facilitate their proposal until they sent him the financial breakdown which cost the huge sum of 500 million naira.
The Atiku ally quoted the prayer warriors to have convinced him of their prayer prowess when they claimed that they did a similar prayer for President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019 which his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, and CEO of Bullet Construction, both late, allegedly paid for.
At the time of filing this report, a source close to the Atiku ally said he is yet to table the matter before the Presidential candidate and he is not likely to do so because of the exorbitant amount of money the prayer warriors are demanding.
The Atiku ally however said he is not surprised that some jobbers close to religious leaders are doing these things to make money since they just make the innocent leaders of the churches pray for their clients without telling them the clients are paying.
He added that he believed strongly that this particular popular General Overseer of this large Pentecostal gathering is not aware of the financial side of the proposal since his own is to accept to pray for any candidate that seeks his spiritual blessing.
