EXCLUSIVE: Ganduje Reportedly Dropped from Ministerial List, to Emerge APC National Chairman
The former governor of Kano State Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is tipped for the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.
This is following the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu as National Chairman of the party and his Secretary Iyiola Omisore.
Ganduje is a frontiline supporter and mobiliser of President Bola Tinubu from day one. He was one of the earliest governors to support Tinubu’s presidential bid.
Sources told Politics Digest that President Tinubu is highly satisfied and comfortable with Ganduje as Chairman of the party.
He considered him as his number one ally and loyalist since the early beginning of his presidential bid.

Ganduje was nominated as minister, but his name was withdrawn on Tuesday after Adamu’s resignation.
The former governor was said to be more interested in becoming a minister than a party man. He had to be lobbied by the president and other party bigwigs.
“Ganduje had to be lobbied. This is what is delaying the announcement of the ministerial nominees in the Senate Chamber, even though the president had already sent the list on Tuesday. ” A source who pleaded for anonymity told this paper.
After he accepted the offer, President Tinubu asked him to bring his replacement from Kano and other five people for appointments among which is the party’s flagbearer in Kano Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and Baffa Babba Dan-agundi, a former Managing Director of Kano Roads and Traffic Agency.
