Extortion: Kano Business Men Cries Out On Turkish Visa
POLITICS DIGEST- Kano business men travelling to Turkey have lamented unlawful extortion while seeking for visa by a company engaged for outsourcing visa services on behalf of the Turkey embassy.
Speaking on behalf of the affected intending business travellers Alhaji Ado Ibrahim revealed that the visa firm charges non refundable fees of $135 equivalent to about 75,000 adding that after the payment and fulfilling all the visa documentation required for application, the firm would deny the visa and asked them to reapply.
It was gathered that the concern of most travellers is the firms inability to state categorically the reason behind the visa denial even when they asked.

“This is huge money and most of us were denied the visa severally without any reason.
Even when we really, they did the same thing. We want to write officially to the embassy to know the reason of denying us visa.
“We are going there for business purposes, we are adding economic value to Turkey and Nigeria is in good and cordial relationship with this country.
We have been to Turkey on several occasions for business purposes but why are they doing this to us these days”. One of the aggrieved members who doesn’t want to be named said
When contacted on phone, Mr. Cem Tasgim of MZ Visa said that the Turkish embassy was the only office that could answer question regarding visa application as the company was a visa application centre operator.
