FCT Minister: Why Senator Abu Kyari? By Mubarak Hamza
Since after the unveiling of the ministerial nominees by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigerians are eager to see the portfolio each will be assigned to
The president may consider the track record and experience of the nominee’s before he assign portfolio to them.
It’s evidently clear that the Ministry of Health and that of Justice will be assigned to a medical doctor and a lawyer.
The case is different from other ministries, but for the interest of delivery and serving Nigerians, Senator Abubakar Kyari will no doubt deliver on the mandate he is assigned for.
Kyari, who was a former chief of staff to the vice president when he was governor of Borno State, was also at the red chamber to represent his people.
He was a commissioner and has served his people at the green chamber. Kyari will be assigned to a responsibility that he is qualified for.

It’s amazing to realise that most of the outstanding achievements recorded in the Federal Capital Territory were Kyari’s initiatives as chairman of the senate committee on FCT for good four years.
He has contributed towards the rapid reforms in the field of revenue growth through rapid reform of FCT-IRS.
Today, FCT-IRS is only second to Lagos in terms of revenue generation. Our party, the All Progressive Congress, is immensely blessed with competent and highly efficient individuals like Senator Abu Kyari.
The president should consider assigning Kyari to lead the Federal Capital Territory based on his track record of prudence, accountability, and good management as someone with versatile experience in the executive and legislative arm of government.
I have no doubt of Kyari’s ability to deliver to the good people of FCT. He’s no history of discrimination. He is neither a tribalist nor a religious jingoist but a pan nigerian who believes in the unity and development of the people he is leading.
Mr. President should give us Abubakar Kyari as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
