Young Female Pharmacist Presents Book on Moral Virtues
POLITICS DIGEST – A young female pharmacist and proactive healthcare advocate, Fatima Adamu-Baba has called for reorientation and adherence to moral virtues and positive personal qualities that lead to a life characterized by self-control, altruism and good acts.
Mrs. Fatima, who is currently participating in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme made the call at a public presentation of her book “The Virtues Series- A Diary of a Striving Muslim” at Fouad Lababidi Academy Abuja.
She said her book is a collection of life inspiring incidences shared in a series of thirty different cases and stories that are highlighted with verses of the Hoy Quran and Hadiths to enable readers to constantly aspire for a good and fulfilled life.
The Chairman at the occasion, Surveyor Bashir Shettima commended the young author for taking time of her tight schedule in writing the book when some of her contemporaries are busy chatting and gossiping on social media platforms.
He said: “It is amazing to realise that at this techonolgical period when our youths are busy gossiping, fighting, engaging in hate speech and sharing fake news on social media, we still have young person like Fatima who advocate patience, tolerance and honesty in the society through their intellectual ability.
The book reviewers at the occasion, Dr Surayya Hassan, Dr. Safiya Abdullahi and Engr Faizah Sadiq were full of commendations on the book which they unanimously described as “inspiring, educative, motivating and instructive guides” towards living a simple but fulfilled life.
While launching the book,  the Chief Launcher Surveyor Adamu Adaji who was represented by the acting Director General of National Boundary Commission Alhaji Bashir Ahmed said he was impressed to realise that the author is not only a working professional but a wife and mother from an aspiring family with strong moral upbringing which inspired her inclination towards uprightness and virtues.
“Without any doubt, this motivating book is a must read material not only for the youths but to the elders too to remind them of purpose and ideal situation in life.”
According to Hajia Maimuna Musa Adaji of National Productivity Centre Abuja, the 108 page book contains 30 episodes which are a collection of processes of psychological rejuvenation by youth on a journey towards being the best they could be.
Hajia Adaji who provided the forward to the book said some of the experiences and lessons in the series sprung from the author’s own personal experiences and readers can identify with the events and draw numerous lessons therefrom.
Fatima Adamu-Baba had her early education at Unity International School before attending Fou’ad Lababidi Islamic Academy and Capital Science Academy for her secondary education. She was a Pharmacy Student at Usmanu Dan Fodio University, Sokoto before she transferred to Eastern Mediterranean University, North Cyprus where she bagged a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree.
She had a year internship program at NAFDAC and also had part-time training at the National Hospital and at selected community pharmacies in Abuja.
She currently manages an online platform where she gathered a team of her colleagues to volunteer and share Health Tips and Advice from the scope of their knowledge as pharmacists and as a way to promote Proactive Health Management.
