FG Should Ban Herdsmen Movement – Ganduje
Politics Digest – Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has called for the ban of herdsmen and cattle movement from the North to the Southern part of Nigeria.
Ganduje explained that the ban would put an end to the frequent clash between herdsmen and farmers in the country.
He made the call during a launch between governors of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State over the weekend.

Addressing journalists after the meeting, Ganduje urged the federal government to enact a law banning the movement of cattle across the country.
Ganduje said: “We are building a RUGA settlement in Samsosua forest, our border with Katsina.
“My advocacy is that we should abolish the transportation or trekking of herdsmen from the Northern part of Nigeria to the middle belt and to the southern part of Nigeria.
“There should be a law that will ban cattle movement, otherwise, we cannot control the conflicts between herdsmen and farmers and the cattle rustling which is affecting us greatly.”
