The Corps has at least 187,000 volunteers across the country.
The eighth senate passed the bill in late 2017 but President Buhari rejected it in February 2018, citing insecurity and paucity of resources as reasons for the decision.
Ndume said that the reasons given by the presidency for not assenting the bill in the eighth Senate have been addressed in the bill, saying: “The bill is timely considering the high rate of unemployment in the country.”
