I’ll Defeat you in 2023, Fintiri tells Opposition Parties
POLITICS DIGEST- Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state weekend told his political opponents and aspirants in opposition political parties that he would stage a comeback in 2013.
The governor stated this in Yola while receiving a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Adamu Kamale, and some prominent politicians from his senatorial zone in Adamawa north who defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) back to PDP.
Governor Fintiri said: “Our door is open for the opposition to come and join us in the task of making Adamawa work again. They destroyed the state and say something at press conferences and call me in the night to say a different thing. That does not make you a man.
“You do this just because you want to please some people in Abuja in order to secure appointment and win contracts. Here in Adamawa, we have the contracts and the appointments, but we will give it to responsible people from whom the masses will benefit.
“I have no time for them because I have a serious business of governance ahead of me. That is why I am not replying them. My concern and priority is the collective interest of Adamawa people, not those who will contest against me. They won’t see my end, I defeated them before and in the next four years, I will defeat them again in 2023.
“We spent three years in PDP fighting internal wrangling because some people wanted to destroy the party. We campaigned for only seven months, but we defeated them despite their power of incumbency.”
