The source familiar with the workings of the palace, however, said there would be no public statement on the development until after seven days.
Recall that on January 9, 2024, 1000 trees were planted in his honour as part of the activities lined up for the celebration of Asagba’s 100 birthday anniversary.
“It is true that the Asagba is no more. But we respect our tradition so much. Our tradition forbids the official announcement of the monarch’s death before seven days,” the source said.
The news of the Asagba’s demise is coming hours after reports of the death of a former federal lawmaker from the state, Dr Cairo Ojougboh, on Wednesday.
