Friends Commend Bankole For Elevating PWDs’ Status

Friends of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Hon Tolu Bankole, has commended him for his remarkable achievements in office, especially in elevating the status of PWDs in the country.
Hon. Bankole, since his assumption of office, has been agitating for the inclusion and recognition of Persons with Disabilities in politics.
In a congratulatory message, a group of concerned friends on Tuesday, lauded Bankole’s achievements, saying that within just a year in office, he has successfully promoted free education and skill acquisition among the (PWDs).
The group also said that Bankole successfully secured free nomination forms for all PWD aspirants in 2022 APC primaries while ensuring they had a robust representation on the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) which contributed to the victory of President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Among your transformative and PWDs inclusive achievements within your first 365 days in office, your quest for education has earned us many educational empowerments such as free WAEC registration and bursary to students in the PWDs community across the country.
“We are indeed blessed to have you as a force and support for over 33million PWDs in Nigeria. Your philanthropy has elevated many PWDs through various empowerment, skill acquisition and sustained cash gifts to hundreds of PWDs across the country.
“You have stood very tall for the PWDs of the Party as a mediator and in the spirit of oneness you single handedly introduced and organized the first PWDs National Summit within the last one year in office. The visibility of the PWDs under your leadership has engendered prompt responses to issues affecting the community and continued to open doors of collaboration and partnership with government and non governmental agencies to stop discrimination against PWDs.
“Worthy of mention is how you lobbied for the installation of a lift in the APC National Secretariat in order to make Buhari House inclusive and ease movement of PWDs within the offices.
“You have raised the bar of advocacy for the rights of PWDs across the country by speaking and putting pressure on government and private establishments to respect the rights of PWDs to a decent and dignified life on numerous occasions in the public space,” the statement read.
