According to the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Mallam Inuwa Foundation, Mr. Ahmad Inuwa, “the medical outreach on treating eye defects in our people was necessitated by the need to reduce the burden of blindness in several Jigawa communities.
“It will interest many to know that we are going to treat about 5,000 persons, with various eye diseases and problems, for free.
“They are not going to pay a dime. There are persons who we shall distribute eye glasses to, while some will receive drugs to cure cataracts and other mild eye problems they have been battling with,” said Inuwa.
Some of the beneficiaries when contacted by PRNigeria expressed their appreciation to the foundation.
One of the beneficiaries, Rabiu Yunusa, called on leaders and well meaning individuals and groups to sustain the gesture.
“I don’t have the means but with the support of the foundation, I was able to undergo a surgery in eye to remove the cataract and at the same time consulted a doctor on some health issues,” Mallam Yunusa said.
Mr Yunusa who was seen in a happy mood also sent his best wishes and prayed for Inuwa and WAMY Foundation.
