Ganduje Appoints New Rector For Kano Poly
POLITICS DIGEST– As part of his commitment towards Polytechnic education without any let or hindrance, for academic excellence, governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has approved the appointment of Dr Kabir Bello Dungurawa as the new Rector of Kano State Polytechnic.
This was contained in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor Abba Anwar.
Dungurawa succeeded Prof. Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa, who was appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Yusuf Maitama Sule University recently.
He hold a PhD in guidance and counselling from Bayero University, Kano.
The appointments that are with immediate effect also have Associate Prof. Yusuf Mohammed Sabo and Dr Salisu Maiwada Abubakar as Council members of Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano.
Hajiya Hama Ali Aware is now the new Director General of Kano Investment (KANINVEST) and Diaspora. All appointees were directed by the governor to work very closely with their staff, so as to have smooth working relationship.
“It is extremely important for all of the new appointees to know the relevance and necessity of using modern technology in their day to day engagements. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has become a global factor that no one can run away from,” he urged.
He also challenged them that they were chosen based on their proven track records in their former places of work, that they should therefore strive hard and maintain or exceed that rare performance they exhibited before, “You must comply with global best practice,” he said.
“You should always place our dear state, Kano, before any other consideration. All eyes will now be on you to see how you can discharge your new responsibilities,” he reminded”.
