Ganduje Swears in 20 New Commissioners, Assigns Portfolios
POLITICS DIGEST – Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has on Tuesday sworn-in 20 new Commissioners and assigned portfolios to them.
The swearing-in took place at the Sani Abacha Indoor Stadium, Kano.
The state Deputy Governor Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna is Commissioner of Agriculture, Murtala Sule Garo is assigned the ministry of Local Government.
Engr. Muazu Magaji is Commissioner of Works as Barrister Ibrahim Muktar returns to the Ministry of Justice as Commissioner.
Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso was sworn in as Commissioner of Rural Development while Dr Kabiru Ibrahim Getso is now Commissioner of Environment
Similarly, Comrade Mohammed Garba returns to Information as Commissioner as Nura Mohammed Dakadai as merged as Commissioner of Budget and Planning, Shehu Na’Allah kura is Commissioner of finance and economic development while Dr. Mohammed Tahir is Commissioner of Religious Affairs
Others include Dr. Zahara’u Umar as Commissioner of Women Affairs, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa, Commissioner of Health, Sadiq Aminu Wali , Commissioner of Water Resources , Mohammed Bappa Takai Commissioner of Science and Technology , Kabiru Ado Lakwaya, Commissioner of Youth and sports Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, Commissioner of Higher Education , Ibrahim Ahmed KarayeCommissioner of Tourism and Culture, Muktar Ishaq Yakasai, Commissioner of Special Duties , Mahmoud Muhammad, Commissioner of Commerce and Industry , Muhammad Sunusi Saidu,Commissioner of Education Barrister Lawan Abdullahi Musa Commissioner of Housing and Transport.
It was gathered that the first Executive Council meeting would hold tonight by 9 pm at the Council Chambers in the Government House to be presided by Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
