Ganduje Procures One Million Textbooks, Furniture to Kano Public Schools
POLITICS DIGEST – About one million assorted text books have been procured for distribution to public schools across Kano state, the state’s commissioner of education, Malam Muhammad Sanusi Sa’id Kiru has said.
He disclosed this during the 2019 Annual General Meeting of the Dala Old Girls Association (DOGA) held in Kano.
The commissioner explained that the provision of the text books would facilitate better learning for pupils and students of primary and secondary schools across the state.
Kiru disclosed that 3,000 schools have been identified and would be provided with furniture under the supervision of Schools Based Management Committees (SBMCs).
He added that the state government has also procured 1,400 Tablets to facilitate pilot study for e-learning in some selected schools across the three Senatorial zones of the state.
According to him, the state government has also made adequate arrangements for the renovation of Girls Secondary Schools in Gaya, Dambatta, Kwa, Kabo and GGC Dala respectively.

“Very soon, the state government will perform the taking over ceremony of a secondary school building donated by Hon. Ali Sa’id Dakatsalle in Bebeji local government and it will be converted to Girls Boarding secondary school”, the commissioner revealed.
He also stated that the ministry is making efforts to repackage the work plans of the Development promised assisting the education sector in the state education sector.
While thanking the Dala Old Gilrs Association for thier commitment towards seeing to the betterment of their alma matter, he said that the state government will do its part in assisting the school.
He then assured that in his first year as commissioner, education sector in the state will record tremendous achievements.
Speaking earlier at the event, business mogul and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, admonished the Old Girls to continue with the good work of assisting their Almamatter.
He then presented a N10 million donation to the association, while promising to continue the same for the next five years .
Alhaji Dantata also promised to drill five boreholes and construct ten blocks of toilet in the school.
