Gara Berates Gombe Gov’t Over Poor Handling of COVID 19
POLITICS DIGEST- A prominent sports administrator and former executive chairman of Gombe state football association, Ahmed Shuaibu Gara has expressed displeasure with the way Gombe state government is handling the issue of COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
Gara in an interview with Daylight Reporters, berated the government precisely on providing the citizens with palliative materials to ease the sufferings inflicted on them by the pandemic.
He also expressed dismay over the government’s refusal to distribute the food donations they received from the federal government and the Northeast Development Commission, expressing the action as wickedness and insensitivity.

“In this month of Ramadan even those who are not fasting are hungry. But you locked up the rice for 8 weeks just because you want to rebag the rice to fraudulently produce your own bags. The cost of producing the bags and rebagging is enough to buy rice for another batch of citizens.”
While advising the state governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to lead with compassion, fairness, transparency, accountability and fear of God, he noted that all actions and inactions of human beings will be accountable to God on the day of judgement.
“When you run a government this way you will never succeed. As a governor, you lead with compassion, fairness, decisiveness, without fear or favour, transparency and accountability and fear of God.” He emphasised.
