We’ll Give you all Documents, Nothing to Hide – INEC Assures LP

POLITICS DIGEST – The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu has assured the Labour Party’s Legal Team that the Commission will provide all the documents it requested for to prosecute its case.

The LP is contesting the announcement of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President-elect after the February 25 presidential election in which LP’s Peter Obi came third.

The Presidential Election Tribunal has therefore ordered INEC to cooperate with all litigants and provide the needed materials to persecute their cases

He said: “INEC has nothing to hide. Documents available at the HQ will be given immediately. We are meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners today and we will discuss how other documents at the state level could also be made available to you speedily.”

The Labour Party’s Legal Team was at the INEC HQ to discuss modalities for obtaining the documents.
