Gov Abba Pays Rent for Ado Bayero’s Daughter and Mother
In a timely intervention, Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has settled the rent bill for Zainab Jummai Ado Bayero, daughter of the late Emir of Kano, and her mother, who were facing eviction from their Lagos apartment.
The Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, arrived in Lagos on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, and met with the General Manager of Morning Side Suits, Victoria Island, where the Ado Bayero family has been residing since early this year. The family was served an eviction notice, which was due to expire by 3 pm on the same day.

Zainab Ado Bayero, a documentary producer, had earlier cried out for help in the newspapers, stating that she, her brother, and mother were neglected by the royal family after the death of her father, late Emir Ado Bayero. The family has been facing difficult times, including denial of their inheritance.
Governor Yusuf’s intervention came after the public outcry, with his spokesperson stating that the gesture was aimed at alleviating the suffering of the royal family members and upholding the good name of Kano State.
Zainab and her mother expressed deep gratitude to the Governor, saying, “You came at the right time… we were about to be forcefully evicted… Alhamdulillah for your arrival.”
The Governor’s representative, Sanusi Bature, emphasized that the intervention was a humanitarian gesture, as the citizens of Kano felt the matter reflected poorly on the royal family and the state. “They are our Muslim sisters and brother, currently in need,” he said.
This kind act by Governor Yusuf has saved the Ado Bayero family from imminent eviction and highlighted his commitment to supporting those in need.
