Governor Ododo Appoints Crisis Communication Expert, Onogwu Muhammed, as SA on Public Relations
POLITICS DIGEST – Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has appointed a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and award-winning crisis communication expert, Onogwu Muhammed, as Special Adviser on Public Relations.
Muhammed served as the Chief Press Secretary to Ododo’s predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, during which he won the 2023 National Spokesperson award in crisis communication management.

According to a statement from Lugard House, Lokoja, Muhammed is coming with an impressive CV and cognate experience in a similar role. He will provide strategic counsel and manage the public image and communications of the Governor and the state government.
He will take responsibility for maintaining and enhancing the reputation of the Governor and effectively communicating policies, initiatives, and responses to various stakeholders, including the media, public, and other government officials.
Among others, Mr Muhammed is expected to play a role in Strategic Communication Planning, Media Relations, Crisis Management, Public Engagement, Stakeholder Management, Reputation Management, Internal Communications and Social Media Management.
He is expected to play a critical role in shaping the public narrative, building trust with constituents, and ensuring that the Governor’s communication efforts are effective, transparent, and aligned with the overall goals of the administration.
