Group Urges Tinubu to Appoint Emmanuel Akpakwu as Minister of Youth
POLITICS DIGEST- Coalition of Civil Society, Youth And Students Network has recommended the nomination of Honourable Emmanuel Akpakwu as Minister of Youth And Sport.
National coordinator of the group, Comrade Abbas Abdulazeez called on President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is at the threshold of nominating Ministers for subsequent screening and confirmation by the 10th Senate to permit them to serve as statutory members of the Federal Executive Council and overseer of ministries.
He made the call through a Press Statement issued to Journalists today in Abuja.
He stated that the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President which is centred on economic prosperity and national recovery, hence, the importance of nominating experienced persons to pilot the affairs of programme and policies of Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration in various ministries can not be overemphasized.
“As said by the President, the youth will play a major role in his government and he will demonstrate that by appointing them into various positions for full display of their potentials.
“There is no mincing word, that the ministry of youth would play a vital role in the aforementioned areas. The ministry is responsible for the national youth policy, youth development programmes, funding youth activities, youth participation in governance, maximizing youth potentials for national development and to manage the National Youth Services Corps and the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, the aim of the ministry is to empower Nigerian youths to becoming self-reliant, contribute positively to nation building and be socially responsible,” he added.

Comrade Abbas reiterated that It is on this note, the Coalition of Civil Society, Youth and Students Network wish to nominate the personality of Honourable Emmanuel Akpakwu, as Minister-Designate, Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development for his unprecedented track records.
“Honourable Akpakwu a native of Benue State, born on the 16th, February, 1974, obtained a Diploma in Banking and Finance from Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, Benue State and a degree in Political Science from National Open University of Nigeria. A former consultant with the Federal Government of Nigeria and a member of multiple learned professional organizations.
“In lieu of his impeccable performance, Akpakwu has bagged many honor and award in his name.
“He understands the importance of Information Communication Technology in this contemporary world, this made him to pursue a Diploma in Computer Science from Centre for Computer Engineering and Site Power Institute of Technology Dubai, United Arab Emirates in 2002.
“With his overwhelming wealth of experience and exposure, we are confident that if appointed as Minister of Youth, Akpakwu will transform the ministry into an enviable eldorado by employing the necessary mechanism to enable the ministry attain its full capacity,” he said.
‘He has numerous record of youth empowerment, building youth and women in various leadership position organise lots of skill acquisition and establish them.
“He has soldiers across board he has build to become generational leaders which has always been the attributes of Mr. President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR as such we believe his appointment will go along way to actualise the renewed hope agenda,” Comrade Abbas stated.
Coalition of Civil Society, Youth and Students Network, however stated with full confidence that the appointment of Honourable Emmanuel Akpakwu as Minister of Youths Development will be the best gift to Nigeria Youth and Nigeria as a whole.
